Our visit to University of San Agustin in Iloilo City was in relation to a scientific conference we attended in the place. During our stay, the students and staff were very much welcoming and hospitable. The different facilities for the event have been prepared well for the participants. The food available in the canteen area are sufficient for a quick bite in between sessions during the conference. The university bookstore also has a number of university-themed items and shirts for non-students to avail. Security is very much operational and the security guards were helpful especially for the visitors who needed directions to some of the buildings. One must-visit place is the university chapel found inside Mentrida Hall. The place is very much conducive for a short breather and time for reflection if you are having a busy set of activities in the university. One modern facility is the Fray Luis de Leon Hall which houses the university archives, museum galleries, and the exhibit hall. It was one of the regrets that we were not able to explore this part despite having visited the said hall. Night time is also a treat for visitors with the beautiful view of the façade of Herrera Hall and Mentrida Hall if you have the time to spare to stay on the front area of the university.

I recently went to the University of San Agustin to process my school records, and the experience was disappointing. The processing and release timeline is quite long, especially when compared to other schools that have already modernized their records systems. What was more frustrating is that I paid for the yearbook but was never able to collect it, only to be informed that it had already been thrown away. This is unacceptable, considering it was already paid for. The restrooms lack basic necessities such as a bidet, hand soap, and tissue, which reflects poor facility maintenance. The records process itself feels very outdated. As an alumnus, I was asked to provide details such as Elementary and Junior High School years attended—information that is difficult to remember after many years. I believe the university should already have these records on file. What if an alumnus mistakenly provides incorrect dates due to memory lapses, the request could be delayed or rejected, which is unreasonable. Overall, the system feels old-school and not aligned with modern standards, especially for alumni record processing. I hope the university considers improving its systems, facilities, and record-handling procedures to better serve its alumni.

Rating: 5/5 > The University of San Agustin truly lives up to its reputation as one of the top private universities in the Visayas. The facilities are modern — especially the library, labs, and student centers. The teachers are approachable, and the school promotes a balance between academics and faith-based values. The environment feels safe and inspiring, with many opportunities for research, cultural events, and student leadership. I highly recommend it to students who want quality education and a strong community spirit.

I am not a student here so I can't say anything about the curriculum but I attended a convention here and the atmosphere is rrally conducive to learning. The landscaping is properly maintained. Their rooms are also nice and they have the necessary technology advancements for learning. Their cafeteria is also spacious and serves good food.
